![]() The isolines of the uranium distribution coefficients indicate that nitric acid has only a slight salting-out effect on the recovery of uranium in this solvent system. This solvate was isolated in the form of yellow crystals melting at 53.8 plus or minus 0.3 deg C and decomposing at 234 deg C. The diagram indicates the formation of a solvate UO/sub 2/(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/. The title molecule, C18H16N4S, adopts a U-shape with the aromatic groups lying syn and orientated in the same direction as the thiophene S atom, and is curved as seen in the dihedral angle of 30.26 (19) formed between the terminal benzene rings. The location of the maxima relative to those in the binary water-alcohol systems are related to the hydration of the solute molecule. The study of the bond lengths Ru-Cl is, in a first part, placed in the general frame of the chlorocomplexes of ruthenium having and+ type ligands. Ultrasonic velocity maxima have been determined as a function of alcohol (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol or t-butanol) concentration in ternary aqueous alcoholic solutions of a number of mono- and polyhydroxyalcohols. The structures of K2RuNOX 5 (XCl, Br, I) have been determined or redetermined. The distribution coefficients of UO/sub 2/(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ are plotted as isolines. The halogeno nitrosyl ruthenium complexes are studied using their structural characteristics as basis. The phase diagram shows a two-phase region, a homogeneous organic phase with 2% water and up to 20.2% uranyl nitrate, and various hydrates of UO/sub 2/(NO/sub 3/)/sub more ยป 2/ in contact with an organic phase. Nitric acid was determined by potentiometric titration, uranium by arsenazo-1 or by xylidine orange, and water by Fisher's method. Samples of the aqueous and organic phases were taken for analysis. The formation of three liquid phases was not observed at any time. Hence, the system was a pseudo four-component system. It is stated, that all the proposed scales of such parameters are incomplete or lead to an incorrect band structure of diamond. A constant concentration (27.6 wt%) of the monobutyl ether of dibutylphosphinic acid (BEDBP) in a CCl/sub 4/ solution was taken as one component. The problem of matrix elements of the Hartree-Fock Hamiltonian for saturated hydrocarbons in the EO method is considered.
